Hello
The 2nd Annual International White Chihuahua Piano Composer's Competition
Wish Misty the best of health! She just got a CAT scan. She wishes it could have been a DOG scan.
Up to 12 winning composers will have their piano works released on an album and have it marketed to a real audience.
Unlike some calls, the benefits of this competition go beyond a commercial release.
Winners will get the following:
Possible multiple achievements on CV
Album will be marketed to an audience on Spotify
Possible playlist selections, blog selections, and radio selections
Your work will be promoted for 18-31 weeks for free as part of the album.*
You will pay for only 3 weeks of marketing. The rest of the marketing free. That’s a huge discount from if you marketed the submission yourself! Potentially, it could save you hundreds of dollars in marketing.
Discounts to other Resilient Composer Course opportunities
Along with the 6-12 winning composers, a first prize will be given to the best performing work
This first prize will be free basic marketing and selection for the competition next year, OR a free independent release with free marketing.
The winner will be determined by the lowest cost per click of the ad, although playlists selections and algorithmic listens can be great for the track.
If you are a finalist, you will need to fill out 1 more application, totaling 2 applications in all. Please check your email.
If you are a winner, you will need to fill out 1 additional application, totalling 3 applications in all. Please check your email.
Piano works must:
Be marketable to an audience
Be up to 5 minutes long
Have a recording, either in MIDI or acoustic. MIDI mockups are OK and even encouraged.
While fast pieces might work, slow piano works are preferred.
Don't write a piece about a dog for this competition. Although we'd be flattered, we don't want to make people do stuff like that. Humor probably isn't going to work, there's just not enough places I know about to *easily market the work.
You must be able to pay for 3 weeks of marketing, that fee is between 167-597 dollars, more info later for finalists.
This competition won't ask you to pay for more than the work's potential. The minimum fee is $167.
You will be able to choose how much you pay for the marketing.
There is a 100% money-back guarantee if you aren't happy with the results. We're sure you'll be thrilled, though.
Application due date: March 24, 2025
*Free marketing can vary according to the outcome of the competition. This is subject to change as the competition progresses. Last year, the time was somewhere around 21-23 weeks. Those works from last year will be marketed along with this year's winning works in a playlist. Pretty cool for them, right?
